I do not own a king snake but if i had to pick one it would be the snow cal. i thought it was very pretty. I have held pet king snakes before and i am not a real big fan of them because they can be real messie when you hold them which has happen to me alot of times but i am a more boa and ball python person they are really my hearts there.

I wud hav 2 say tha da prettiest king snake was da variable, da colours were amazin. Ive neva really looked at a king snake b4, theyre actually quite pretty, theyre heads r smaller than da snakes Im used 2 lookin at. Wots their temperament like? R they a good snake 2 get 4 a 1st time owner?

My favorite ones were the Anery Brook's Kingsnake, Ghost Brook's Kingsnake, and the Lavender snow cal king. The albino brook's king was very interesting as well, as was the chocolate cal king.

I tried breeding my pair of cal kings two years in a row and every year the female laid 5-10 infertile eggs. I knew there was something wrong with the eggs because they were not solid white and they were undersized. The eggs were laid at different time as opposed to all right after the other. I am pretty sure I followed the right procedure. I stopped feeding them about 2 weeks before hibernation, put them down in the closet in the basement for 3 months at around 55 degrees, got them out in mid march, fed them like crazy, they shed and then put them together for about a week until they stopped showing interest in each other, then waited a little less than a month until the female laid her eggs. i put the eggs in the incubator but went bad and started to rot and smell the next day.
The guy at my local reptile store told me the problem could be the males sperm or the female has calcium deficiency. To solve the calcium problem i stopped feeding the female mice and started to feed it rats and instead of once a week, its not every 5 days. i really wanna beef it up and make sure its nice and fat. Its fat alright weighing about a little less than 1kg. The male did not eat that much that year and i know for a fact that he refused to eat for an approximate period of 4 months and at once or twice a month after that. I thought he had malnutrition or something and his sperm wasn't strong.
I NEED HELP GUYS I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT I DID WRONG.!!!

I have two high white cali kings. They are awesome. Easy to hold, take care of, and to feed. The Cali kings, the Mexican black kings, and the Nuevo Leon variable phase (not sure if BHB has the Nuevos) are all wonderful.
